Many people on here are still lacking in terms of knowledge so stop saying that everyone has better mindset than you, this is impossible, no matter where you are in life some people will still always be behind you.

We are all better than someone in this life, stop thinking less of yourself, my advice is don't stop learning.

Forget the following.

1. Keeping coins on exchanges, even as a trader once you are done make sure you move your digital assets out of the exchange.

2. Avoid anything cloud related, your crypto wallet keys are safer offline.

3. I have no hate for software wallets but hardware wallet that are open source are better in security wise, if you must use a software wallet make sure you go for non - custodial wallets.

Even while you still can't afford to hardware wallet, have it in mind and start saving up some money for it, I can't sleep well at night strong assets worth $5,000 on a software based crypto wallet.
