That’s correct. From what I’ve read during my research on the over/under market, experts often say that the over is usually the public’s favorite pick. That’s why bookies tend to set the line in a way that makes the over look more attractive but in reality, it’s often a trap, and the game ends up going under.
AFAIR, the over has a lower winning percentage compared to the under. I don’t have the exact data to back it up right now, but that’s what I’ve consistently seen mentioned in betting discussions and analysis.
I have tried betting on over and under when it comes to gambling but I can tell you that there is no guarantee when it comes to gambling there is no safe option to bet on as far as am concerned
I'm more comfortable with over under bet on football than anything else. I recently (the game ended a few minutes ago) had an exciting experience with over under bets.
The thing about over under bet is it doesn't change wildly like win loss on scoring of some goals specially in high scoring matches.
There was this match and the FIFA rating of the teams were close by and I was getting a good odd (2.37) on under 6.5 and I went for it. My reasoning were equal teams would not have much goal difference. Watching the first half, I realized that the two teams are completely on different level. At the end of first half, the score was 4-0. As I watched that half, I realized the winning team had capacity to score much more but they are missing it for silly mistakes. This made me realize the game would easily go over 7.5 in the 2nd half. So without thinking much, I cashed out my previous bet, got 60% back, doubled my bet amount and placed on over 7.5. The game ended 8-0. I had expected much more goals but it was still a win. I got about 1.95 on my second bet.
