Just like we say, a tree does not grow in a day, same thing goes for gambling addiction. And that is why, it is wise not a plant certain trees at all, than to plant a tree that you can't cut, and ends up becoming very huge with difficulty to cut down. Same thing goes for gambling.

Just the way it takes time and gradual process to get addicted to gambling, that is how it also takes time(even more time), to become free from it. The truth is, there is a place for prayer, and there is a place for one's effort to break free. I'm of the opinion that one can't leave everything to prayer, and at the same time can't leave everything to human effort. How about leaning on your believe, and seeking for help in the medical field as well, because that's what some religious leaders would advise. Everything has its place, as long as the goal to recover fully.
