My bad, I didn't know. I thought it was under Abramovich they started their reckless signing spree. Few days ago, I came across this picture on twitter of Chelsea's dressing room by troll football and it really cracked me up.
Well, if the strategy is working for them, they should go on with it. However, with what happened to Mudryk or should I say how his case is looking, I'd expect them to be atleast smart in handing out these lengthy contracts to new signings.
Is this picture real or AI-generated? I am trying to look closely at the players and couldn't recognise anyone there, maybe the picture on my device is not clear. And why are all the players fully dressed as if all of them will play in the game?
Coach Enzo Maresca is trying to cut down on the players and hopefully many of them will leave. I think Chelsea is willing to offload as many players as possible. I guess the club has above 40 players. However, since they will be playing in the UCL they might need many players.
It is clearly an AI generated image, because myself I can't really recognise any face in that photo except that they are all wearing Chelsea jersey.
The buying of too many players may not be the making of Enzo Maresca despite how many would argue that he has a hand in it since he's the coach of the club. Its actually Chelsea's owner's approach.
Probably intentionally not to build a strong Chelsea team but to making profits from the approach of long term contract for players should they improve after a year or two and worth much value they get sold out. And when a player is still having his contract undone with his present club, the asking club tends to pay more on ads on and other clauses attached.
