Shubman Gill played like a real test captain. India made a huge total and almost half of it were the contribution of Shubman Gill. It's not that other batsmen performed bad they did their job but the total they reached was not possible if Shubman was not batting for that long. As India got all out in 587, England started their batting on the 2nd day. They already lost 3 early wickets and Harry Brook and Joe Root are trying to stabilize their scoring. England too has some of the best test batsmen and its still too early to call as India too had lost their 3 wicket early.
Shubman Gill has already become a bright face for India. He is in great form especially in Test cricket. Which he proved in the first innings of the second Test match against England. The most surprising thing is that he is playing brilliantly with the pressure of captaincy on his shoulders. We may not expect such a good performance from captains. Because they are under some mental pressure. But it is completely the opposite in the case of Shubman Gill. I think he should be tested in some more series like this, if he is successful in this test then I demand that he be made the captain for a long time. Currently, two young stars Yashashvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill are reliable players in Indian Test cricket.
Shubman Gill is a gem of India. He plays brilliantly in every match. In this Test match against England, Shubman Gill played 387 balls alone in which he scored 269 runs. His run rate in this long game was about 0.7%. Run rate is not a big issue in Test matches, it is the long stay on the field that is the big issue here. A player scoring 269 runs alone will surprise everyone. India is capable of many more big achievements with the help of Shubman Gill. When I enjoy India's game, I look forward to watching Gill play. He is very clever and tries to play every ball very finely. Currently, my favorite player in the Indian team is Shubman Gill.
