I desperately want to agree with you but I really don't know, am starting to feel maybe considering the popular fairytale that the team is actually caused, lol because they have come so close to lifting but yet the trophy still evade them and signing a good striker would up their chances but then are they willing to let release of the money needed to fund the entire transaction and again all the deadly strikers I know of are quite expensive especially for a team like arsenal.
The thing is, if they had done what they were supposed to do on time, they might have won it, but they didn't, and now we don't know if they will get that chance again soon. Three seasons ago, they missed out on the league towards the end of the season and lost the league to Man City. I believe that was the season they were at their best. We could all see how injuries and fatigue of players worked against them, so a lot of signings were expected, and they did make those signings. The problem is that they didn't sign any attackers.
They went with what they've got for that season to the next season, and the same thing happened; they lost the league to Manchester City again. One would think it's a no-brainer for them to sign at least a striker and a winger to join their attack, but they didn't do that; they signed more players, but still no attackers. They went into last season with an attack of Saka, Trossard, Martinelli and Merino as the strikers, and of course, they lost the league to Liverpool. You obviously cannot win the league without a prolific goal scorer in your team.
Amongst other things, you need at least one prolific goal scorer in your team, and the other player can help out when that player is not scoring. Liverpool has that player, Manchester City has that player, and that is why the league has been between them for a long time now. The players in your team have to be so good and very consistent for you to win the league with a prolific goal scorer.
It's so sad that even this season, Arsenal is not taking their attack seriously. It's not a curse. It takes the right manager and proper planning.
