So the release clause existed, but the number is not 60 million euros? What took so long for the media to pick it up? The agent must know this since they should have a copy of his contract, right? I guess the number is too high for the buyers, hence why they tried to release an article to push the board to agree to a lower fee. But wouldn't the potential buyers inquire about that right from the beginning? Feels kinda weird if they just hide it and refuse to tell them.

That new figure would chase away lots of teams that were Interested in signing him, I don't know if Arsenal or Manchester United are still Interested but such amount would definitely chase them out if the deal especially Manchester United cause I don't think they'll want to spend such amount after signing Cunha for £62m and trying to sign another player for a similar amount.

According to a new I came across months ago from a sports journalist, Gyokeres agents was depending on a claimed promise he said the club made to his client to allow him leave this summer for a fee close to €60m I think that's what brought the whole confusion, he should acted according to Gyokeres clause and not confuse buyers with a self claimed agreement with the club.
