Deep fake videos are now used by a lot of scammers, it's easy for me to know if this is true or false, all I have to do is go to Mr beasts page on this social media pages and check if he's really advertising a casino. If he's really doing an advert for a casino then the videos would be on his page. These fake apps are now becoming something else, people need to be careful about what they download on play store
unfortunately people have become too lazy and vulnerable nowadays

so many people believe news delivered by other people and not by direct source and we know that due to social media these fake news spread like wildfire and once many people have gotten a hold of the news it is hard to stop it because others will share it as well and the cycle continues
It is not always about people being too lazy, that issue can happen to anyone irrespective of how much careful you think you are. You should know that scamming is so sophisticated now that you will rarely know the difference between the original and the fake. Nevertheless, I understand and agree with you that if one could just put in the basic precautions such as downloading apps from the right source and being cautions of links they visit, most of these things will be reduced.
It is not difficult to avoid the risk if you download the app with a little caution. It must be admitted that scammers are very clever in spreading links to their phishing sites. However, those who are aware can protect themselves from these issues. I am very careful when downloading any app in general. In particular, I refrain from clicking any link from any place other than an authentic source. If someone has to download an app, then if they try from the site where they play regularly, they can get that app or they can download it from App store or any other authentic platform, but if you download from an unknown source, there is a high chance of being a victim of fraud.
