My first hand experience is that starting a business, working for ourselves will cause us to work much more often and have less leisurely time than being employed.
However, the big difference is that we're trying to achieve our dream, not paid to do something for other people.
This is true, people who have started or run their own business will understand this better than anyone. When we work for ourselves (become our own boss), we will have to work more, have greater responsibilities and will also face more challenges and risks. It is not as easy or leisurely as when we work for someone.
Everything has its price, if we want to have things that others don't have, we need to go through and do things that others can't. If we want to be a boss, become rich...we need to work hard, sacrifice and make trade-offs because those things don't come naturally. That’s the price we have to pay, and as you said, we’re trying to achieve our dreams, not realizing someone else’s dreams.
