From the start, I made some quick head math and even if Max won't win it won't bankrupt me, the reason I choose to secure 5-6 odds way ahead is because Max has a tendancy to drop those odds lika stone if he does best laps, and 2x odds, that I would love to avoid! At 8x it doens't matter like anymore, so I could go on and bet $10 each time and even if he wins one race in eight I'm still recovering my money, I'm more scared of low 3 odds, that would mean doubling the bet every two races and could go out of control.

Anyhow, makes this %^%6 more entertaining!
