Coinbase as said is a big exchange and they won't scam users. They are chosen as custodian of many Bitcoin Spot ETFs in the USA. If Coinbase is scam, many companies would have not chosen Coinbase as their custodian.

I agree with your recommendation for OP: waiting.

OP will receive an answer from Coinbase soon, but this situation can be so uncertain, fearful so that I think OP learned some lessons from his experience with CEX and will change his practice later.
