What is Trezor doing with the email contact list in the first place if it stays true to what Bitcoin (that made it) preaches?
Everyone is now crazy, they are only pretender who wants to gain from crypto one way or another, for I don't know why Trezor would demand an email. This is uncalled for in both payment and whatever reason they have, it is not an excuse, but selfishness. This is just like any other centralised system that wants to keep the customer on the hook.
Trevor is using the contact list to send updates of their products and services to their customers. How the emails are gotten is when users purchase their devices or subscribe to their newsletter. People who subscribed to their newsletter do it voluntarily, they do not have guns pointed at their heads. But if you want to buy their device, you may choose not to use your real email address.
That is it, it started this way unsuspected and unbothered, but it's wrong in my opinion. I don't have Trevor's wallet, so I didn't know it even worked like this. I thought everything was planned privately for being a hard wallet, which is most secure, so I am disappointed. All these big names are just making money in the name of crypto, but they lack the mind, spirit and plan of Satoshi. Everything should have been done without a contact, in my opinion.
As for the update, can't that be done generally without contacting anyone? Any news and developments can also be regularly be informed on their public outlets.
