PSG should understand that the Champions League is not like the France Ligue 1 where they win and defend titles, this is a competition of Champions which means it is never easy for any team to defend it. In the Champions League era, Real Madrid is the only team to defend the Champions League title and that was basically because they were at their peak as at that time when Zinedine Zidane won it for 3 consecutive seasons but for PSG, they just tasted the trophy for the first time in their history which means that it will be difficult for them to win it back-to-back when Real Madrid and Manchester City are already warming up for the Champions League games next season, if any of those teams did reach the Champions League finals last season, PSG wouldn't have won it.
I honestly do see PSG hoping that they could defend what they’ve got as it it’s, at least for a second time but, I don’t see them being able to archive it. They haven’t got what it takes as I see it quite frankly. This was just a rewarding round for them on how long they’ve been in pursuit of the trophy. Real Madrid don’t look so sharp either, they seem like a team fallen out of glory but, have still got some shine in them. Barcelona and Bayern Munich however looks like a rising star that can do something in the coming season, I hope to watch them last above the quarter finals.
Let's not conclude yet about PSG not being able to win the champions League the second time is better we just wait till next seasons champions League, a lot of people even me didn't believe that PSG will win last seasons champions League trophy, and from what they are playing in the FIFA club world cup competition they are still doing very good and I believe if they continue like that and improve a little bit no team can stop them next season.
PSG and Bayern Munich will play a match today in the FIFA club world cup competition let's see how it goes.
For me real Madrid is really improving and doing well for themselves, I'm saying all this because I'm judging from the correct ongoing FIFA club world cup competition they are performing very well, I think the new coach has immediately got along with the team and his doing very well, I was even thinking before his going to get along with the team it will take him time but I can see his very experienced and intelligent I believe he will do more better with real Madrid.
People wrote PSG off last season too and look where that ended. A 5-0 demolition of Inter in the UCL final, biggest win margin in the competition’s history! But, repeating is different. Only one team (Real Madrid, 2016–2018) has pulled it off in 32 years of modern UCL. Statistically, that’s a 3% success rate. The odds are against PSG, not because of vibes, but because the calendar’s insane now: CWC in the summer (which has already banged up Dembele), barely any break before Ligue 1 starts, and a new Champions League format that favors deep squads and punishes anyone missing key players
PSG’s current CWC form is solid, sure, but look at how thin their depth is compared to the likes of Real and City, who both went on transfer sprees (Madrid: -€117M net spend, City: -€104M) to plug every gap. PSG are basically running it back with loan returnees. If one more key starter limps off, this could get ugly come March. That’s not even touching the psychological target on their backs now as reigning European champs
As for Bayern, Kompany’s rebuilding with a youth-driven, prudent approach (+€38.6M net spend), so tonight’s CWC clash could say a lot about which model (money, youth, or chemistry) really works best under this new scheduling nightmare
