You made good points about Vincent Kompany as Bayern coach especially with their goal of winning Champions League. Bayern always aims for that trophy because they usually win German league easily. It is fair to question if Kompany with his limited top level coaching experience can lead them to Champions League title especially since it is big step up from managing Burnley. You are also right that Bayern attack relies too much on Harry Kane and they need more strong players up front especially with injuries like Musiala if they want to win in Europe. Kompany success will depend on his tactics and bringing in new players and how team plays for him making it exciting season for Bayern fans to watch.

Kompany is more of a rising star than a Champions League vet. The Bundesliga triumph was impressive. But on the big stage in Europe, lets see how they will go. Domestically, he has stabilised Bayern, scoring 93 goals and securing the title with just two defeats. Yet the Champions League has shown its flaws, shaky defence, tactical simplicity, early exits and heavy defeats to Villa, Barcelona & Inter.

They seem unstoppable against mid-table team, but they have been disappointing when faced with Europe's elite. Against PSG in the Club World Cup, they have been disappointing again. So no I wouldn't think about Bayern first choice for next season Champions League, if not Kompany proves he can win against worthy opponent.
