I think Guardiola is definitely aiming for that. If City have another weak season without titles, then most likely they will be forced to change their coach. But I agree that City did a very good job with their transfers. They have strengthened both their attack and midfield, so I think everything should be fine. Especially now that Rodri is back. After his injury, there were a lot of talks that he is one of the most important players in the team because without him it is difficult to build up the attack. So I believe City will definitely get back into the title race.
Last season was the worst for Pep Guardiola because they failed to win any title, but if you look at his arrival, maybe the failure in that season is not a reason for the management to fire him. Man City is one of the rich clubs so they can do anything and to recruit a number of players needed by the manager is not something difficult because they have good finances.

Man City will still be a title contender next season because I believe that at the moment they are still one of the strongest teams in England and the presence of Rodri after his recovery will make them even stronger because now they have the type of player who is able to build attacks with high speed and accuracy.
