There is very little time left for the final match to be played on July 13th. Two of these four teams were predictable teams. I think everyone guessed Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid. Fluminense was a big surprise. Especially their wins over Al Hilal and Inter showed us that they are also surprise favorites. I think they have the potential to do everything and reach the final in the match they will play against Chelsea right now. However, I still think that the winner of Real Madrid Paris Saint-Germain can win this cup.
Well final match is not so near as first we have the two semi final match and they would be good to watch. I think Chelsea and Real Madrid should win their respective matches but i would not underestimate the Fluminense and PSG teams respectively.
Fluminense is lucky to be in the semi but i don't think they can beat to Chelsea in the next match.
For the other semi final, PSG defeated Bayern Munich convincingly however the only concern for them is that they got two red cards in that match. Hernandez and Pacho got those red card, so maybe they will not be able to play the semi final. This may be a big setback for them but still it won't be an easy game for Real Madrid.
It is funny, every year we hear “the European sides should walk it,” and then football finds a way to mess up everyone odds. Fluminense being called “lucky” makes sense if you only look at the xG charts. However, their efficiency is next-level, almost unsustainable, unless you believe in that South American dark art of big-game management. It is not just luck with Fluminense. They use clever little fouls to slow down the game (10 yellows, no reds!), and then Hércules comes in as a substitute and always seems to score when it matters. He is their game-changer. Add in the travel and climate edge (they are less jetlagged than Chelsea by a mile), and you got a recipe for another narrative-busting upset.
For PSG, you nailed the issue: two red cards in one match, both starters out. Now their makeshift backline has to face Vinicius and Mbappé, who, by the way, looks like he is hitting form at just the right time (44 goals this season, fresh off the bench with a stunner last round). Everyone is talking about the “Mbappé vs his ex” storyline, but for me, the real chaos is in the stats: both teams are comfortable giving up possession lately, both have defensive gaps, and both have the kind of players who can break a tight game wide open in 5 minutes. If we get an early goal, this could go totally off-script. And, who would have it any other way?
