It's an interesting game but I think it's more of luck and you just have to hope you get good cards with respect to the table and also hope that others are not too good because trust me some people are just too good in Texas hold em' all. you don't have to worry much about cheating since it's online though and the algorithm does the shuffling but sometimes even with the worst card combination you can beat a straight flush or even a royal flush if you have good bluffing skills.
@Mia Chloe in general I would argue against your stance here as on average you would see stronger players rank higher than weaker players the more hands and tournaments are played. Variance is there and this is what gives weaker players the chance to compete with stronger players in a single event. We sometimes lose our minds about bad calls for sure, but without that variance many players wouldn't consider playing. Variance adds quite some fun to it, and sometimes quite some anger, depending on which side you stand on a certain day
