Hi, I have been running various versions of Bitcoin Core for 10 years. I used to use it as a wallet to store my Bitcoin with passphrase protected wallet.dat but have since begun using cold storage. I still run Bitcoin Core, haven’t upgraded since 0.26.0
It runs fine when it’s open but I was just wondering what’s the ideal system spec these days to comfortably run it 24/7?
It freezes quite a bit when syncing if I ever turn the computer off and have to open it again. It can hang on Starting Network Threads or Done Loading for 10-15 minutes. This didn’t used to happen. This old laptop I use only has 1TB of storage and the blockchain is getting bigger and bigger.
Would the following be sufficient to flawlessly run Bitcoin Core on a new laptop:
128 GB RAM
2 TB SSD
16 Core
Some links or recommendations for different capable laptops would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
