A lot of gamblers are misguided by the popular saying "no risk no reward" but the thing about risks is that you don't really know if it would be profitable to you or it's going to end up ruining you. Just because someone took a big risk and benefitted from it doesn't mean that you would also get the same result. It's a 50/50 thing, you can either win or lose.
