Victor Osimhen’s contract with Napoli will expire on June 27, 2026, with an extension signed in December 2023. This means he has around 1.5 years left on his contract, starting in 2025. Osimhen played a key role in the Serie A title and won the African Player of the Year award in 2023. He is still considered an elite striker, so he has a strong position to negotiate his salary.
Even if he becomes a free agent in 2026, he will still be in demand on the market at the age of 28. He will be in a comfortable position when he becomes a free agent, as he will be an elite player.
Galatasaray have already reached an agreement on personal terms with Osimhen but it will not mean anything if Napoli keep rejecting their offers on the price. If I am not mistaken Napoli want to get at least 75 million euros for him but so far there is no one ready to pay that much. Manchester United by the way refused to go for Osimhen because they are not happy with the high salary he is asking for.
Manchester United has a big bucket of problems that they have to solve first before they can dictate salaries or be attractive enough for top players to go there. Because what does a player get when he signs a contract with Manchester United? Nothing but uncertainty and they don't play in the UCL. A top player can usually choose from a number of clubs and in a last resort Osimhen could always decide to lower his salary requirements and still go to one of the best clubs and play in the UCL.
Osimhen is about to enter his late 20s at the end of this year and signing a contract with Manchester would mean that he could end up not playing in the UCL for years. He can as well stay in Turkey, play for Galatasaray, play the UCL and make good money.
It is still up to him. He's got the quality and he is still in his prime.
