I saw he was throwing random numbers around at different countries last night. He said 30% on Bosnia, 32% on Indonesia, 35% on Bangladesh, 25% on Tunisia, 30% on South Africa, 40% on Laos. It seems like a bit of a disaster, does he know what he’s doing? Most of those countries probably don’t do much trade with the US any way so they’ll probably just ignore his petulant statements as it won’t affect them. Trump also delayed tariffs until August 1st. It just seems a bit unprofessional.
There is something that you are not getting right about this, Trump is using trade deficit to make the estimation. If the United States is importing from your country that they are importing from you, so the tariff will increase. But I am surprised with how he did some countries tariff calculatin but I did not listed below.

Take a look at these which are some of the countries you listed above. Take note of the trade deficit

Quote
In 2024, the total value of U.S. goods trade with Tunisia was approximately $1.6 billion. U.S. exports to Tunisia were around $503.6 million, while imports from Tunisia totaled $1.1 billion. This resulted in a U.S. trade deficit with Tunisia of $619.6 million.

In 2024, the U.S. goods trade deficit with Laos was $762.9 million, driven by a significant increase in imports from Laos. In 2024, U.S. goods exports to Laos were $40.4 million, while imports from Laos totaled $803.3 million

In April 2025, Bangladesh's exports to the United States were $886 million, while imports were $260 million, resulting in a trade surplus of $626 million for Bangladesh

Quote
In 2024, the US goods trade with Indonesia totaled an estimated $38.3 billion, with US exports to Indonesia at $10.2 billion and imports from Indonesia at $28.1 billion, resulting in a US trade deficit of $17.9 billion.

Quote
In 2024, total U.S. goods trade with South Africa was $20.5 billion. U.S. goods exports to South Africa were $5.8 billion, while imports from South Africa were $14.7 billion.

They are exporting to United States than importing.

If you check China, you will see the opposite. Many if the countries are borrowing loan from China, I hope a time will not come when China will gradually be taking over some things in the countries that will not be able to pay the loan just as usual. What Trump is afraid of should be more about China to dominate.
