IMO, it’s not just ignorance. People are just scared to start what they dont want to deal with in the long run. And for the fact that everything around bitcoin is different from what it was 2013-2015, beginners look back at it and dont know where to start.
A decent number of folks wrongly conclude that they are too late, and no one wants to be the exit liquidity of others.
Yet, at the same time, if they at least appreciate that their failure to buy bitcoin is only preparing for down, and they are failing to prepare for up.. then maybe they could be motivated to buy some in order to prepare for up. but part of the problem is that they think that they don't need to prepare for up, and they wrongly believe that they are not prejudiced if they don't prepare for up... which yeah, 5-10 years down the road or later, they may well come to realize how much they fucked themselves by continuing to fail/refuse to act to at least get started, even if it is just $30 per week.. even while we know they are easily capable to do $100 per week..
Absolutely, the entire idea of been too late on investing in bitcoin is a self fufilling prophecy. If they dont want that for themselves of course, they will change their mindset. From what I observed they are not just afraid of being exit liquidity, what they are more afraid of is facing the reality that they have been too passive for a long time. So they accept convictions that let them stay ignorant no matter how convincing bitcoin may look. Again, they still dont see bitcoin as inevitable, only if they realize it is a form of store of value that can be transfered, the idea of not owning even a fraction would feel reckless, regardless of the price. As long as they still treat it as a speculative asset, of course everytime they want to buy some, it feels very risky to them, and they will never buy.
The crazy part is that these same people will lock money in their bank accounts, praising the fiat system, they are afraid of investing as little as $20 through DCA into bitcoin. This proves that it wasnt all about being able to afford it. It is all about being comfortable with the traditional system.
