I came across news that there’s a senator pushing to ban gambling in our country.
So I’d like to ask fellow gamblers here, do you think this move is justified? Or is it too harsh?
We all know that gambling is addictive by nature. No matter our financial status, anyone can fall into addiction. But is banning it entirely really the only solution?
And what could be the possible consequences if gambling were banned in a country? Can you share some thoughts or examples?
Let’s have an open discussion ...
Many countries have tried it and failed miserably. Even a highly advance and strict nation like China is failing to control gambling even though gambling is China is banned for decades now. There's also Muslim countries that has banned gambling in papers but people gamble there too.
Just like most of illegal things, gambling too exist in two different state in these banned nation. The low level gambling is where the laymen enjoy gambling. These are low level underground gambling dens that mostly has temporary nature. i.e. ready to run if there's a police raid.
Another state are high level of gambling dens with the protection from high level authorities, this is where the wealthy and powerful ones gamble.
