Will Arsenal end the season in second position again?
This is the third time Arsenal is ending the season in second position. Previous seasons we all saw Manchester City doing amazingly well and dominating the league. Just last season than Manchester City lost form, we expected Arsenal whose favourite has been second position to win the league. but it never happened. Rather, Liverpool won.
This has always been the usual way with Arsenal; performing well at the beginning, raising the hopes of their fans, only to lose at the 11th hour. If Arsenal ends in second position again, it will be the fourth time this is happening. I am gradually getting used to Arsenal's shortcomings.
Do you agree that Arsenal might likely end in second position again this season?
We expected Arsenal to learn from their previous mistakes after finishing second in the league for two seasons in a row, but the squad was not ready to take their opportunities last season when Manchester City, who normally dominate the league, were not in top form. Liverpool won the league title this season with 84 points, but it wasn't enough for the league dominating team. Arsenal did not play to their full strength, otherwise, last season may have been their best chance to win the title. If Manchester City were in top form, I doubt they would win the league with 84 points.
However, predicting what will happen next season will be tough because every team is active in the market, signing top players who can improve their performance the next season. If Manchester City can return to winning ways at the start of the next season, it will be difficult for Arsenal or Liverpool to win the league, however, if Manchester City performance remains as poor as it was last season, Arsenal may be able to win the league if they can compete throughout the season.
