Do you allow yourself to bet on ridiculous things?
Like in sports betting, do you sometimes just bet on an option that has very low chances of actually happening but seems fun to bet on at the time? Some people might do it for fun but what would be amazing is if it actually happened and you won.
A friend shared to me how he had betted on an athlete for fun and won big. If you follow Formula 1, you would have heard of an amazing news. Last sunday held the race at Silverstone, United Kingdom. British weather was particularly awful that day as it pours over the track.
A driver, Nico Hulkenberg, started at 19th place. To set the picture, this driver made his debut in Formula 1 way back 2010. He has had 238 race starts and yet he has never finished on the podium. At age 37, he is the driver with most race starts without a podium but last Sunday it finally changed. From 19th, he finished 3rd. The entire community was happy for him even those who are not his fans. It is insane to me that he basically did what seemed the impossible.
This got me thinking how sometimes betting on the impossible could give you insane benefits. I know this will not happen all the time but those who had chosen to bet on Hulkenberg that day for fun got insanely lucky and won big.
He did great truly and it was truly deserved for him yet he did not do the impossible, he just maximally capitalized his chances because of the rain and before the rain, stayed out much more also was bold to continue like that. I have bet on Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll to win the race when their odd was 1501 for each of them though I have never won anything by following these type of bets. I also have bet on parlays with odds well over 1 million that contained the maximum number of allowed games which is 25 and never won this way either. So I know that most other gamblers have also tried impossible bets yet they never pay you anything and almost every time it is just time and money waster.
