I expected a tough battle against Real Madrid, and the match ended in a massacre. Against Chelsea it must be an easier game than it was against Real Madrid, if we take the previous matches of this championship into consideration. Chelsea struggled and even lost against weaker teams, so against PSG they will have to think on a very smart strategy to have at least a minimum winning chance.
PSG plays very well, especially against its european pairs. Moreover, they have already reached too far to slow down right now. They are with the hand on the trophy already, and they will want to make sure to grab it after the next game.
If we are talking about teams that have actually lost against smaller oppositions it wasn’t only Chelsea but rather even PSG lost in the same week to Botafogo so none of them have been invisible in the tournament, realistically PSG needs to be favorite in the game because there is no other team better than them in world football right now. But in place of historical precedent Chelsea have been that club that has been into so many finals as sheer underdogs and they came out in triumph. There first champions league final win was against European best side Bayern Munich and also the second against Manchester city both of which were spectacular in those seasons.
One would argue it is a different team and I understand but if the players at Chelsea want to give their all in this game I think PSG might have to come into the game yet again like they did against all the other English sides that they faced.
