Not a bad collection... England lost Smith's wicket just after the lunch break. If Smith could have added another 20-30 runs to the scoreboard, it would have been easier for England to collect 400+.
Brydon Carse is unbeaten on 54 runs. England's total is now 380/9. Adding another 20 runs to the scoreboard is a tough task for Carse and Bashir. Even if Carse can play well, we cannot expect much from Bashir's batting. Even then, it is a big collection considering the condition of the pitch. After England lost 7 wickets for 271 runs, we do not expect England's batsmen to collect another 110+ on the scoreboard.

England's innings has stopped at 387 runs. It will be very difficult for India to bat well on this pitch and take a lead in the first innings. What is even more important is that it will become even more difficult to bat on this pitch on the fourth and fifth days. England has managed to collect a good total. Now if the England bowlers can do their job properly, the team will be able to take a decent lead.

India lost the wicket of opener Jaiswal after collecting only 13 runs. I don't know what Jaiswal was in such a hurry. Jaiswal returned to the dressing room after collecting 13 runs from 8 balls. One should definitely bat very carefully on this pitch. Especially, let's not forget that England's bowlers are very experienced.

KL Rahul and Karun Nair are batting very carefully. Karun Nair collected 5 runs from 18 balls. We have not seen good batting from this top order batsman of India in the last two matches. If he fails to perform well in the third Test match, then the Indian management will probably not give Karun Nair any more opportunities.
