just shows how gambling will always exist anywhere
Yes, gambling is everywhere, even in remote places like prisons. This is especially true for those imprisoned for gambling. In some countries where gambling is illegal, those caught gambling can be imprisoned. I don't think prisons are as strict as we imagine. They can still gamble, even if the stakes are a pack of cigarettes or anything else; even those in prison can do that.
Gambling like that isn't because prisons aren't strict. I think if they're gambling on a pack of cigarettes or changing the toilet cleaning schedule, they can gamble on anything. Like how long the warden will be in. Or something like what breakfast will be. Such gambling is almost 100% undetectable by even the strictest prisons. And speaking of gambling in prison, in my personal opinion, prisoners imprisoned for crimes should be able to improve themselves while incarcerated. Instead of gambling, they could be doing other things like exercising or becoming more religious. Maybe something like religion sounds sensitive here, but I think gambling in prison usually makes someone worse because they become a habit or see gambling as a necessity. CMIIW
