Hi all,

I'm still fairly new here (just my fifth day), but I’ve been diving deep into the history and fundamentals of Bitcoin. I understand it was the first and is still the most trusted and decentralized, but with all the rapid developments in blockchain tech, I wonder:

Will Bitcoin still be on top in 10 years?
Other projects are pushing boundaries in scalability, smart contracts, and interoperability.
.

YES - other projects might be pushing boundries but they are different boundries
to Bitcoins. Smart contracts AKA $hitcoins come and go as has been seen for many
years. Interoperability, not sure what that is relating to but again nobody is going to
take a project seriously which isnt decentralised.

Is Bitcoin's simplicity and security enough to keep it ahead, or do you think another crypto might take over in daily utility or adoption?

NO, Bitcoin is decentralised, thats arguably its biggest feature, followed by its
security. So yea anyone can create a similar and "better" coin to rival Bitcoin but
a few key events will have to happen, similar to Bitcoin's in order for it to compete.

1. the maker/inventor needs to be anonymous and then completely disappear so
that their influence is zero over the project

2. the project will have to have a seriously dedicated group of developers, miners and
node runners built up to build security into the network.

3. it will have to have at least 10 years of a proven record and favourable journey
in order for any Bitcoiner to jump the fence to that side.
