Why Talent and Hard Work Are No Longer Enough
A quick advise because i have seen people who works hard become what they want. Don't just say talent and hard work are no longer enough, in life you must work hard but the only reason why working hard seems to be useless is when you are doing it in the wrong way without applying smart work. Working smart and giving your best is very fundamental to determine what you want, either focusing on your skill or talent.

Thanks for your contributions.

I’m not condemning hard work; far from it. I’m simply pointing out how discouraging it can be when people who don’t put in as much effort as you still end up ahead due to political influence or connections.

Take our institutions, for example. A student who consistently attends lectures, studies hard, and prepares diligently for exams may end up with lower grades than someone who puts in little effort but has influence or money to manipulate the system. That is deeply painful and demoralising.

It’s the same with job opportunities. You may be well prepared and highly qualified for a position, but due to political interference, the job might be handed to someone far less deserving. Again, this is painful and discouraging.

If you find yourself working in the northern part of Nigeria, no matter how hard working you are, it is very unlikely you will be appointed as a director; unless you are in a federal government parastatal. This is the reality on the ground.

Now let me ask you: no matter how hard working and talented you are, can you truly boast that your talent alone can get you signed to the Nigerian Super Eagles team? Is talent alone what gets players signed? May be outside Nigeria or may be in the past
