Airdrops are mostly useless and you should never try airdrops if the risk is losing your bitcoin by hacks. If you can not have a device used only for airdrops, don't join airdrops.

Security of Bitcoin wallets, and cryptocurrency wallets depend on their blockchain protocol, security and the device security. If you have bad habit on Internet, and your device was infected by malwares, viruses, I am quite sure that your Bitcoin and cryptocurrency wallets will have higher risk of hack and steal.

Bitcoin security and resources.

Most airdrops involved testnet interactions and downloading all sort of things that might not be healthier for your device. You are likely going to download malware, wallet drainer and all sort of things doing airdrops. I don't know how some people are still surviving with airdrops but there are people that do retroactive airdrops, some are given them good return more like good return on investment and some don't. I wouldn't advise against airdrops but use a single device for it.

It's not even healthy to keep Bitcoin on a software device, hardware wallet is the best for this. Any device you do connect with internet should be clearly off limit for Bitcoin and not just Bitcoin I mean your entire wallet be it Bitcoin, ethereum and any other coins. Evm coins are the easiest way to sweap because once you interact with an infected smart contract, your wallet will be drain and anything on the wallet will be taken out faster before your eyes.
