...I intend to keep my promise to myself to stop gambling altogether and I will totally achieve it because I am very decisive about it. No one can stop me now, it was that going from 20 to 800 dollars and losing it all that made me do this.

I'm supportive of people who resolve to free himself of addiction, when you want to fix your addiction you can think of almost anything to do it, you can cut off your internet, which is not a good idea, you can take a vacation on a place where there is no connection, but you device your way I'm sure it will be effective because its your idea.
When you get out of addiction, the next thing to focus on is to remain out of addiction and play to have fun.

Yes, whatever works for you to get out of addiction is very much welcomed, the OP stop strategy worked for him and as you said being where there's no internet can help but it's can't be effective because you need internet for other things. Addiction is a very big problem in gambling, when a gambler totally loses control of their gambling, they're also losing money, time and energy, it drains from every corner. If an addicted gamblers can come out of it he needs to make a serious decision whether to completely abstain from gambling or can be able to gamble responsibly. It won't be good to be addicted twice, better to move on permanently .
