Mbappe's effort was clearly not enough to be even remotely close to a win today. PSG had no problem beating Real Madrid. I knew it was going to be a tough match and most likely end with a minimum score, but I didn't expect PSG to take on Real like that. In the first half hour of the game PSG scored 3 goals, but knowing Real I did not turn off the match, I realised that 3 goals for Real Madrid is not so much. But alas, with every minute it became clear that the situation would not change

Yes it wasn't his game at all and he gave up quite fast, you could tell from his body language. But in all fairness it must be considered that there were a couple of things he couldn't do anything about, like those crucial mistakes in the defense. That's frustrating as a striker because it's almost irrelevant how good you are on that day, if the defense makes such easy mistakes and serves goals for the opponent as presents, it's hard to overcome that against a top team like PSG.

I think the results that PSG produced in a few games are hard to digest. The UCL win against Inter Milan was unreal and I still don't understand what was going on in the minds of the Inter Milan players, and now against Real Madrid which did not play as Real Madrid usually plays. Full of mistakes, low passing accuracy and very low ball possession. Real Madrid hasn't possessed the ball as much as Manchester City as it is not the core of their game plan, but 31% does not sound like Real Madrid. If you'd hide their club name and logo and only see the numbers for all statistics of that game, you could never guess it was Real Madrid. Cheesy
