I expect that with a probability of 99% Manny will lose, because every boxer sooner or later loses to "old age". In fact, this is not a fight against Mario, but a fight against "old age". If Pacquiao had fought this fight when he was young, Barrios would have had no chance.
But I doubt that the spectacle will be worthy from the point of view of a boxing match. Manny is already quite old and is not capable of showing the level of boxing that he had during his stellar career. This legend is a thing of the past and watching this fight can only be done from the point of view of respect for the past merits of this legend. Nothing more.
He’s older now, but this is his shot at a comeback and I still have a bit of confidence that he can pull it off. If he loses and still tries to fight again, I don’t think I’d bet on him next time, but for now, there’s still that hope.
If we’re just basing it on his age, of course the odds look slim. But when you watch his training and see how sharp he still is even just through videos, you start to think twice. He’s clearly in good shape, and that alone might be enough to make you believe he still has something left.
