Okay, let's talk CBDCs. More and more central banks are pushing these, and honestly, the privacy implications scare me. On one hand, it's digital money, supposedly more efficient. On the other, it feels like a step towards total financial control. Are we just sleepwalking into a future where every transaction is tracked, or am I overreacting? What's the biggest threat you see with widespread CBDC adoption, and how can the crypto community push back?
I am pretty sure that at least in under EU regulations, GDPR will require a ton of confidentiality for that tech, before any kind of CBDC could be even considered.
And i am not sure how that would look like, but it's nothing like current blockchains. It would need to be build on zero knowledge tech or something similar, and i am skeptical if some complex, decentralized experimental state of the art zk contracts would be cheaper solution then current banking.
