There is no top! It
can't be! If there's a top Bitcoin will never cross, that means from that moment onwards, Bitcoin has to lose value faster than the dollar. And as inflation is built into fiat money, that's simply not going to happen. That leaves only one possibility as long as Bitcoin exists: Bitcoin has to keep going up in the long run.
I am glad that you are "getting it" since of course bitcoin goes up forever in terms of the dollar and also in terms of non-scarce assets and in terms of all of the fiats, and yeah the dollar is currently and likely to continue to be the strongest of the various forms of shitty monies..
The idea with scarce resources is that, it never marks out in value and it even gets interesting with Bitcoin being a decentralized currency when Bid/Ask by users around the globe determines the prize, it gives no chances for manipulation and the price remains volatile.
