I think this is highly unlikely. If it were possible, it would imply that other wallet manufacturers have left open access to SEEDs on devices they've produced, which would be serious security flaw. As I’ve mentioned in one of my previous post somewhere here on forum, SEED must be backed up only once, right after it's generated. Whether the backup is done via NFC to smart card or through another secure method, SEED must then be sealed inside SE and never exposed again.
But we know that's not the case. If anyone had any doubts if sensitive data can be retrieved from secure element chips used in hardware wallets, those doubts should now be gone after we saw what is possible with Ledger Recover. Keys can be retrieved, copied, divided in shards, and sent over the internet to third parties. All that's needed is the right code to enable it. The question now is who will be crazy or stupid enough to officially follow in Ledger's footsteps?
