PSG looked perfect in the preliminaries and some of the knockout phase matches. But the most important thing is that Chelsea were able to break the predictions of many people. I think a lot of people lost their bets today. The match was also exciting. Red cards to Enrique's slap for Joao Pedro. PSG dominated the ball but they lacked creation. While Chelsea were effective, Palmer was the brains of this victory. Not surprising for the result, but Maresca seems to know how to break down PSG's collective efforts. I don't fully understand but Chelsea's win is a good asset for the EPL next season.
Chelsea showed their superiority early in the match. PSG even seemed to lose their rhythm from the start. Enzo Maresca truly understood how to break down PSG's play. Chelsea actually dominated the first half, both offensively and in other areas. PSG only managed to show some dominance in the second half. Unfortunately, they still struggled to penetrate Chelsea's defense.
I really didn't expect Chelsea to have such a solid defense. And I also didn't expect Chelsea to play as beautifully as they did in the first half. Cole Palmer really showed his sharpness again. In some matches, he actually seemed to lose his sharpness, but in this match, he played exceptionally.
I think this young player really has the potential to be even higher in the future. He's not yet at his best, because I'm quite sure he can still improve.
