Xabi Alonso still has much work to do for this Real Madrid side that seem to have lost motivation and focus. Their performance in the Club World Cup wasn’t convincing but on the bright side, Xabi has identified the problem which he pointed out to be lack of unity in their play. Let’s see how he will manage the situation and fix this next season.
Knowing the problem of the team is a very vital thing xabi has done, because  that will help him develop better approach on how well to tackle the issue identified,  because  for you to be able  to tackle an issue,  you need to first identify thes issue.  Madrid players will obviously not have that unity reason been that they are mostly talented player who have their personal awards they wish to get while in their prime so that will always affect  their style of play on the pitch too often.
Yes, that's true, and that's why Real Madrid suffered so badly last year. Players didn't play as a team in many positions, and Carlo Ancelotti couldn't make the necessary moves. I normally thought he was good at managing star players, but he failed in that regard in his final year at Real Madrid. I think that's why he was sacked. He couldn't make the necessary moves when the game was going badly, he lacked the courage.

Too many big egos in one team...and I doubt Xabi Alonso will be able to change this mentality in just 1 year. I think the upcoming season will be the worst for Real in the last decade and it will remind us of the "galacticos" era where the most talented players played for Real and yet they achieved nothing. Same story can be happening here ...a lot of talented players with big egos trying to carry the game in their own and playing as a team.
