Well lately I have been falling back to gambling addiction and it looks like I can't stop no matter how hard I try. The problem is that I only love to play 90% of the times from my Linux machine in my home as I love to play from the comfort of my home and was thinking what to do to block these websites of the casinos I play and resorted to REJECTING traffic from the iptables command in the firewall of my Ubuntu machine, well it worked like a charm and I don't intend to delete these rules ever. In fact I have already forgotten the rules though and I don't intend to check back. I intend to keep my promise to myself to stop gambling altogether and I will totally achieve it because I am very decisive about it. No one can stop me now, it was that going from 20 to 800 dollars and losing it all that made me do this. In case anyone is in my same shoes here are the rules to REJECT traffic, also there is needed both INPUT and OUTPUT.

If you think that this is how you should fight addiction, then that is your right. But I think it is better to try to replace the attraction to gambling with something else. Listen to yourself, maybe you will want to replace your condition with another hobby: computer games (both online and single), or art, or something else. Among the latest examples of people who got rid of addiction, I know that many recommend hypnosis. No joke.
