He is going to be 40 years old in 2 months. I believe Milan is very likely to be his final place as in his career. I guess the contract would also be for only 1 year. But it's totally normal of course.
I'm surprised about only his choice. Why Milan? I mean he didn't ever play for a Serie A team. Wasn't there any other offer? I thought maybe he'd retire by making some much more money by going to the MLS or SPL.

Modric have optional get one year contract extend with Milan depend on his season can perform well or not? if Modric can perform consistent and play well not difficulty for Allegri extend one year contract. Serie A become best place for any player have raise years old not only Luka Modric but also De Bruyne have early joining Napoli after his contract expiring with Manchester City.
