Do you allow yourself to bet on ridiculous things?
Like in sports betting, do you sometimes just bet on an option that has very low chances of actually happening but seems fun to bet on at the time? Some people might do it for fun but what would be amazing is if it actually happened and you won.
A friend shared to me how he had betted on an athlete for fun and won big. If you follow Formula 1, you would have heard of an amazing news. Last sunday held the race at Silverstone, United Kingdom. British weather was particularly awful that day as it pours over the track.
A driver, Nico Hulkenberg, started at 19th place. To set the picture, this driver made his debut in Formula 1 way back 2010. He has had 238 race starts and yet he has never finished on the podium. At age 37, he is the driver with most race starts without a podium but last Sunday it finally changed. From 19th, he finished 3rd. The entire community was happy for him even those who are not his fans. It is insane to me that he basically did what seemed the impossible.
This got me thinking how sometimes betting on the impossible could give you insane benefits. I know this will not happen all the time but those who had chosen to bet on Hulkenberg that day for fun got insanely lucky and won big.
I like Kevin Malone attitude:

And yeah, i have taken them. Last time was in eurovision, when i had 200x bet for winner. I thought it had potential and probably would got more attention if John Oliver would have praised that video beforehand and not afterwards.
And i totally missed out on eurovision bet last time, when our local betting provider had offered over 5000x combination bet for top 5 acts. I only heard it afterwards from my friend. They were even likely combination according to youtube's view count. Funny how i regret not taking that bet even though it wasn't a winning bet.
