PAGCOR did respond though, giving them until the end of August to take down those huge billboards. But honestly, that won’t solve the real problem. Even before those ads went up, gambling addiction was already a serious issue. The billboard is just a symptom, the root problem runs much deeper.
I believe the same. Gambling ads are just the tip of a huge iceberg, especially in countries that are "poor" and where people struggle day in and day out for a living. The Philippines is such a place, and gambling is almost everywhere. The Government needs to take other measures to at least reduce this, and for sure, it isn't just getting down huge billboards. The problem will still exist, and will still be an option for them to escape from poverty.
