The saddest thing is that even winning La Liga with Atletico doesn't give anything to the players. This dull system of Simeone sometimes gives results, but the players don't flourish in it. I can't call Atletico a Bermuda triangle or a graveyard of talent like United, but still, if a player wants to increase his personal brand and become a star, then he clearly shouldn't go to Atletico. And yes, in recent seasons this team has turned from a tough nut to crack that none of the top clubs like into a total loser.
Atletico often disappoints fans, they might need to appoint a new manager to seriously compete for trophies. I think at some point, Julian Alvarez might choose to leave to win trophies, he should have stayed with Manchester City. The last time Atletico won the La Liga trophy was in the 2020-2021 season, and last season they finished in their usual spot, third place in the standings. I think next season Atletico will also struggle to compete with Real Madrid and Barcelona.
It is so funny how this club haven't bought any player yet or maybe they have... But I am not aware. One thing a good coach is supposed to do is to identify the problem of the team and look for a way to remedy it and it can either be changing that particular player to play in a different position, bench the playing to see if he will seat up next time or sell that player if that is the only better option left. Atletico de Madrid was doing well at some point in the La Liga last season I think they even top the league at some point but after few defeat they became disorganized and this is the worst thing that will happen to a team or club or even an organization. If the coach feel what he has is okay then what he need do now is work on the player and make their minds to point at achieving a particular target.
