Any thoughts on this?
Things did not go the way most people have expected (myself included). I thought if Chelsea were to win, it would be mostly down to luck, i.e. a lucky goal by Chelsea and ineffective strikes by PSG, or winning by penalties etc, but that wasn't the case. Chelsea was clearly a better team tonight, despite PSG's dominance in ball possession.
Was Maresca better at setting strategy than Enrique? Was it Chelsea performing unexpectedly well, or PSG underperforming?
Could other French clubs take a lesson from Chelsea's performance tonight and use that against PSG in the league games?
I'm not sure what to think about that loss, but all the aura they had after beating Real 4-0 is now gone.
I'm sure no one expected such a result. For a team that everyone praised and considered very successful for its recent performances to concede so many goals and lose the match was truly incredibly difficult to predict.
Other teams in France have a chance to do this. Chelsea wasn't a particularly strong team, but despite this, their strategy was sound, and they managed to win this match. Other teams in the French league are also comparable in quality to Chelsea.
I was very surprised to see a team lose like this, as I had wondered if they could win the championship without losing a single match this season
