Takashi Tashiro, the new CEO of Tokyo-based energy company Remixpoint, will be paid in Bitcoin as part of stated efforts to be “in the same boat” as shareholders, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Remixpoint said it will calculate Tashiro's salary and taxes, purchase the equivalent amount in Bitcoin (BTC) and transfer it to a wallet the CEO designates. The move is as part of a “shareholder-oriented management,” the company said.

We often hear companies talk about acquiring bitcoin but are those CEOs actually using bitcoin in their lives or just accumulating for profit? This type of people, those who take the step forward, will help bitcoin be adopted better. Soon, others might see the benefits of receiving your salary through bitcoin as Tashiro becomes a leading example.

If this is transparent then it's really a good news especially for the shareholders who trusted them. It shows the CEO isn’t just stacking BTC because of the global trend, he’s actually fitting on the situation they're in to have more accountability. Too many major people talk about Bitcoin while still living fully in fiat, all talk no act.

Moves like Tashiro’s set a solid example to majority of the big names out there, making BTC feel more usable and less like just a speculative asset. If more people like him follow this, we all know that BTC will have a solid foundation and 2025 could be a good year for it.
