Filipino families are increasingly affected by online gambling, with easy access leading to addiction and financial problems.
Government revenue from e-games is significant but lawmakers are divided on banning versus regulating due to addiction concerns.

The best option is to regulate; banning it completely would pave the way for illegality, which translates into monetary losses for the country. I don't think banning it would put an end to the country's social habits, especially if it is linked to the traditional and cultural aspects of the Philippines.

Either way, I do not that that we Filipinos are going to minimized gambling addiction. It's really started with online during the pandemic, when we have a e-wallets. In the beginning it was good that we have this e-wallets that the government send money during the covid-19. But when that e-wallets started to accept and open it's door to online gambling, that's where the problem starts. As the majority of Filipinos had access, then anyone, perhaps there were even below 18 years old can play and access by now. So it's really hard to stop and the only way they can do it is to not alone that to they e-wallets. But then again, we have powerful people behind online gambling, oligarchs and then those who are really influential like online cockfighting of Charlie "Atong" Ang. so our country is really turning into one of the worst because of online gambling.
