Due to this, many lawmakers proposed a total ban on gambling, which was opposed by various sectors due to the tax implications and job losses, leading them to suggest a stricter restriction.
The lawmakers that opposed it may have some stakes in these gambling companies or maybe they may be running some gambling companies of their own which is not known to the public. So they are inf act protecting their own interests. This is a speculation though. Although I think the other obvious reasons are valid too.
If they do a total ban on it, they will be labeled as bad and destructive. If they don't issue a total ban, they are corrupt and have bad interest. There is no winning with people like you.

Do you think seeing no gambling, hearing no gambling, and talking no gambling, not even a mention of a gambling site, will decrease addiction? Is it a good resolution?
We cannot unsee gambling ads. They cannot be completely blocked out from showing up in our day to day life. Even without leaving your house, you will still find them online. Some mobile operators companies will send gambling text messages to our phones. I'm speaking from personal experience. Gambling addiction is a matter of being disciplined and sticking to the rules.
This is completely false and you should read some books on psychology. Every time you see an ad you are being subtly brainwashed. If they reduce your exposure to a certain type of ads to a minimum, a lot of people will never begin to gamble.
