Bank officials will never call you to request for personal information via phone calls. They have made this clear to their customers that sensitive information should not be shared with any of their staffs via phone call or text messages but people still find it hard to abide by this warning and end up being scammed after sharing their information.
unfortunately, banks also calls customers sometimes to make request of sensitive information from them especially when the customer just opens an account with them. I have received calls both from a legit bank and some sources that are not legit and it is really difficult to tell which is which if you are not careful enough. the only way out is to make it clear that no personal information of yours is getting out through such sources except you are going to the banks to provide such information on your own.
Bank staff are no longer to be trusted any more because they are part of those that even make those calls and some already have your banking details which they most times either sell out or make use of it for their selfish interest. with data safety being a major issue the cyber space is facing and together with hacks cloned apps becoming more rampant, it is only best that we choose a safety measure that works well for us and ensure we keep our security really simple but yet intact.
