Competitions like this are always have mixed feelings, some matches will be great while some will be boring because of the difference in the level of the opponents performance. The FIFA Club World Cup is not that important for now but I believe in years to come it will be as competitive and important as the World Cup. Players were not happy with it's establishment because they are not having enough rest when the season ends and now there is another competition to participate in again it's definitely tiring and it's good that they will now play it every 4 years just like the World Cup.
Next time the competition will be more intense and more interesting regardless of where it is hosted, USA already hosted once I think it will be nice see another country host it.
Some players may have complained about the lack of rest after the season, but they didn't voice it openly. As professional players earning high salaries from their clubs, they should be participating in various activities, including playing in all competitions, even after the season is over. It's clear they're tired and haven't had enough rest, which can sometimes contribute to the team's poor performance.
Fortunately, the Club World Cup isn't held annually, meaning players don't have to worry about it. Once it's over, all players will likely be faced with several pre-season matches and will be busy with training. The reduced rest time is certainly a complaint, but not all players are involved in pre-season matches.
